HARRISBURG -- The Heat is returning to Harrisburg.
The Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) will announce on Wednesday the Harrisburg Heat will join the league for the 2012-13 season, CBS 21 News Sports Director Jason Bristol has learned.
A news conference is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the PA Farm Show Complex. The team will present its new logo and introduce its ownership group.
The Heat, which held its games at the Farm Show, last played in 2003. It was part of the National Professional Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League, respectively.
PASL Commissioner Kevin Milliken will also attend Wednesday's news conference.
The PASL currently has 13 teams; league franchises include Anaheim. Calif.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Detroit, Mich., Canton, Ohio; San Diego, Calif., and Tacoma, Wash.
The league announced Tuesday the revival of the Dallas Sidekicks, which will also join the league for the 2012-13 season.
