Is the food you are giving your dog making them sick, or worse?

The FDA has heard from 400 people who claim a Purina's Beneful brand is hurting, and in some cases killing their dogs.

Maybe....."People were NOT BLOCKED for asking questions. They were blocked for continually posting offensive, inappropriate messages, as well as advertisements for other brands of dog food and websites. The guidelines are clearly stated, and the people are warned several times" You seem pretty sure of yourself. Unless you work for Purina, how CAN you be SO sure? I lost one of my dogs and made another so sick I thought he might die. I was lucky though because someone told me what was making Max sick. You call it "jumping on the bandwagon" but I call it overcome with grief and the need for justice. I am one of the 443 on Consumer Affairs. Have you ever READ any of the stories? Can you imagine how it feels to lose a dog you love more than anything and then having someone like you try to nullify and belittle our emotions? If you work for that company you should identify yourself. It seems to me, YOU are the one calling names and being rude, at least over here. "impression of a smear campaign" all that seed needs is some water and it should grow just fine in the minds of those who desperately want to believe Purina. God knows it has enough fertilizer. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't that what you are trying to do? Aren't you trying to launch a smear campaign against US? You are giving the impression we are all a bunch of nutcases so overcome with anger and grief we will say anything. Stop trying to discredit us. PLEASE. We don't need this I WISH I knew what it was about that food killed my dog and made another one sick. The ONLY thing I KNOW is Gus is dead. He had most of the same symptoms as the other dogs who were affected. At 7 years, he was still a young guy and had lots of years left. We were robbed of those years. PUPPIES have died. The numbers don't lie. PUPPIES are not supposed to die. Shame on you "Maybe"....you are everything you accusing us of being. Respect is EARNED...not bought. This whole thing is unbelievable.

All of the dogs' symptoms are consistent with Leptospirosis, a bacterial infection that not all vets are aware of. PLEASE have your dog tested for this before blaming the food. Also, the 400 complaints were to the Consumer Affairs website (a shady for-profit, ad-supported site that will not remove false claims unless companies pay them a large monthly fee) and NOT the FDA. The reporter needs to print a correction on this fact immediately.

People were NOT BLOCKED for asking questions. They were blocked for continually posting offensive, inappropriate messages, as well as advertisements for other brands of dog food and websites. The guidelines are clearly stated, and the people are warned several times. Considering some of the posts that remain, the ones that were the cause of the banishments were pretty bad. While it is understandable for people to be upset, considering many many people are suffering the loss and illness of their dogs, the behavior of some have created the impression of a smear campaign. There have been no test results published proving either the safety or danger of the food. Vets have likened it possibly to findings of 2007 recalls of over 100 different brands, where there were just as many people whose dogs had preexisting/unrelated conditions and simply jumped on the bandwagon as an avenue of release for their anger and grief, as there were dogs that were legitimately harmed. There have been no reports of any of the contaminants listed being found either by the consumers or the company. The "P/C" thing to do, seems to be to release test results, so consumers can see what has been tested for, and what the results are.

PLEASE join our new FB group. We are asking Is Purina's BENEFUL Killing or Sickening our Dogs? https://www.facebook.com/groups/533765719991738/ Most of us are blocked from the Nestle/Purina/Beneful Facebook site now for asking about the product. We are seeing an explosion in dog deaths.. people are coming to us and offering testimony.. we tell them what they need to do. We believe that at least SOME of Purina’s food MAY have become contaminated with deadly Aflatoxins from mold.. after all the 2012 corn crop has very high levels with 70% of 2,000 samples tested showing Aflatoxins. Or perhaps there is a problem (again) with Melamine.. or maybe it is the Propylene Glycol (antifreeze albeit with 1/3 the toxicity of Ethylen Glycol..).. or maybe it’s Monsanto’s toxic GMO corn laced with Monsanto’s Organophosphate, Round-up (we have read about recent cases of horses in Texas fed Purina food dying of OP poisoning..) or perhaps high levels of hepatotoxic barbiturates from all those eithanised animals in “Byproducts” and “Animal Digest”.. yes, it IS happening due to an FDA loophole.. Nestle/Purina .. is ignoring everyone, presumably for fear of corporate loss of profits.. their foods are complete junk anyway! Advice to affected pet owners PLEASE do not throw away any Purina product but bag and store it for later reference. BTW, If you have an inexpensive Blacklight, a quick test for Aflatoxins is to grind some kibble up and go into a darkened room. Shine the light on it. Aflatoxins will show as gray-blue patches. Please feel free to share ANY of this.. animals are dying and sickening right now and many of us are working almost round the clock to prevent it!

My dog was slowly dying from being fed Beneful for several years. I called the company to find out if other people had problems with the food and they said that no one else had complained. I stopped feeding Beneful to my dog and fed her rice, venison and fish and she rapidly improved.
