LANCASTER -- Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy will host a celebrity softball game this summer at the home of the Lancaster Barnstormers to benefit ALS research and disadvantaged youth.
Details of the game at Clipper Magazine Stadium will be made public on Monday. A number of All-Pro players are expected to attend the event.
McCoy, who threw out the first pitch at the Barnstormers' home opener on May 1, agreed to a five-year, $45 million contract extension yesterday with the Eagles.
Proceeds from the game will benefit the LeSean McCoy Foundation, which raises funds and awareness for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). McCoy’s grandmother, Maryann Branch, recently passed after a long struggle with ALS.
McCoy attended Bishop McDevitt High School.
