UPDATE:
The serious accident in Hampden Township on Thursday occurred around 618 p.m. and original reports indicated three or four vehicles involved and one vehicle into a garage.
Witnesses at the scene reported that a blue Hyundai was traveling southbound on the I-81 south off-ramp when the driver went right through the red light and struck two vehicles on Wertzville Road.
The Hyundai continued through the intersection and struck the back of a garage on Woodland Drive.
The driver was flown to Hershey Medical Center for treatment.
No one else was injured in the crash.
Hampden Township Police are continuing to investigate the crash.

A 25-year-old man is fortunate to be alive after a serious accident Thursday evening.
The crash occurred around 615 p.m. in Hampden Township.
A man was driving on Interstate 81 when he left the roadway, went through a field, brush and then struck a detached brick garage. He struck the garage so hard that it pushed the car in the garage out the other side.
When EMS arrived, they found the victim unresponsive. However, he regained consciousness after being removed from the vehicle.
The driver did suffer a serious cut to his head and other less serious injuries.
According to later reports, he was awake and alert, but did not remember the accident.
At this time it is believed that drugs may have played a role in the crash, and he was not wearing a seatbelt.
