A 19-year-old charged with murder waived his right to a preliminary hearing this morning in district court.

Accused murderer George Dower-Hinton had a large following Tuesday in court. Half a dozen family members showed up to support him. But they didn't even get to go into the courtroom before the hearing was waived.

Dower-Hinton didn't say a word before waiving his preliminary hearing in a Lancaster County Court. He is charged in the stabbing death of Jeff Brent during the early morning hours of December 9, 2012.

According to court documents, Brent and Dower attended a party that night and afterwards got into a fight. During that fight, numerous witnesses say that Dower got a knife and stabbed Brent. The victim later stumbled into the Budget Host Inn and died in the lobby.

Police say Dower is involved with a street gang called the "Top Shottas". The witnesses in this case will not be indentified for their own protection.

As Hinton was driven back to jail, his family smiled and waved.  Next, he will appear in County Court for his formal arraignment.
