Captain Robert Cuthie of the Second 104th Cavalry 56th Stryker Brigade enjoyed a warm welcome home Monday afternoon. He had been serving in Iraq since January.

Cuthie is a Technology Education teacher at Garden Spot Middle School in New Holland.

Tuesday, his fellow teachers and his students rallied in support of his military service during a ceremony in the school’s football stadium.

Cuthie’s wife, Allison, and their three young daughters were also there to cheer on the soldier.

Faculty members and friends stood up one by one to personally express their gratitude for Cuthie’s service and talked highly of the man that he is.

In December, Cuthie celebrates 20 years in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
