Kim Bracey, a Democrat for more than 20 years, served as the Director of the Department of Community Development for the City of York until January 2009.

Kim Bracey is set to become the first African-American Mayor in the history of the City of York.

The Democrat defeated Wendell Banks handily, with a whopping 81% of the vote, 2582-602.

Bracey served as the Director of the Department of Community Development for the City of York until January 2009. She was appointed by current Mayor John Brenner in 2003.

Brenner announced he would not seek re-election in July 2008.
