Bus carrying Seton Hill women's lacrosse team crashes in Carlisle, killing two

UPDATE: 

The Cumberland County Department of Public Safety has released the names of the two accident victims.

Anthony M. Guaetta, 61, of Johnstown, died at the scene.  He was driving the bus when the accident happened.

Kristina J. Quigley, 30, of Greensburg, died from her injuries at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.  According to the release, Quigley was about 6 months pregnant.  The baby did not survive. 

According to Seton Hill website, Quigley was the head coach of the women's lacrosse team.

The Cumberland County Coroner says a second person has died of injuries from this crash.

Two people were killed and 21 others injured in a bus crash this morning on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Carlisle.  The bus was chartered by Seton Hill University and was headed east.

Three of the injured were taken by helicopter to Hershey Medical Center.  According to Cumberland County Public Information Officer Megan Silverstrim, eight were transported to Carlisle Regional Medical Center, seven to Harrisburg Hospital and four to Holy Spirit.  The injuries ranged from serious to minor.

The crash happened about 8:52 am.  All of the injured were enroute to medical facilities in less than 40 minutes.  The cause is under investigation by State Police. 

The Department of Environmental Protection is also on the scene to monitor a fuel spill.

A charter bus carrying the Seton Hill woman's lacrosse team crashed off the turnpike in Cumberland County this morning, killing the driver and injuring three others.

Around 9:00 Saturday morning, CBS21 started hearing scanner reports of a tour bus accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, near mile marker 227 Eastbound.

According to Turnpike Commission Spokesperson Bill Capone says the bus was traveling east, and about one mile passed the Carlisle Interchange the bus went off the road, through the guardrail and hit a tree, killing the driver. Three others on the bus were airlifted for injuries. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.

The bus was a MLAKER Charter and Tours charter bus; the company is based in Davidsville, PA.  It was carrying the Seton Hill woman's lacrosse team to Millersville University in Lancaster.  On the bus were 23 students, three coaches and the driver.  Those without injuries were taken to a local fire company.
