Are some of you people READING IMPAIRED? The 4th paragraph from the bottom; his ex wife indicates she LEFT THE AMISH....so, um, I would imagine that makes SENSE given that she was married to someone who had ALSO left the Amish lifestyle. So..putting 2+2 together, it makes sense why she has a Facebook account.......like almost every other person on this planet. Sheesh.

She never said that shunning was the case for all Amish people; she was speaking specifically about one person, her ex-husband Jeremiah. It sounds like he obviously was not shunned if his mom was buying him cars and giving him money after he left.

I'm sorry but the ex-wife is just out for money now that her husband is on tv. Each sect of the Amish is different. Some DO SHUN you if you leave. Others wll not, they are not all alike. I grew up with the Amish in Lancaster, PA, and not all her statements are true of al Amish. Maybe her sect from Ohio is different, but she has no9 right to stress her differences on all. Yes there are some things I have noticed watching the show that aree not Amish, but I am not criticizing it. She needs to wake up and smel the roses.
