Federal spending cuts forcing two local control towers to close
Across the board spending cuts are forcing air traffic control towers to close nationwide and that includes two here in Central Pennsylvania.
The Federal Aviation Administration reports both Capitol City and Lancaster Airports are on that list.
Reports show the closures will begin on April 7th.
However, neither one will have to shut down.
The FAA is being forced to trim $637 million for the rest of the fiscal year that ends September 30th. It's all apart of the so-called sequester.
