If you still haven't gotten a swine flu shot this season, here's your chance to get a free one! But be quick!! Spots are filling up fast.
"Most of the sites still have availability. A few don't - the Lancaster site is one of the 18 that do not have slots available," says PA Department of Health spokeswoman Stacy Kriedeman.
In Central PA, you'll want to either head to the clinic in Dauphin County or Franklin County. You don't have to live in either county to go... you can choose whichever is most convenient for you. Both the nasal and shot form will be available.
Over the next three days, the state hopes to inoculate between 60,000-70,000 people who fall in the high risk category.
Those eligible for the free vaccine are: pregnant women, people ages 6 months to 24 years old, health care providers and EMS personnel, parents, household members, and caregivers of children under the age of 6 months, and people under the age of 65 with medical conditions.
"It's important to get this vaccine into the arms of those who need it most," says Kriedeman.
The Dauphin County State Health Center will hold a Swine Flu Clinic. It's located at 30 Kline Plaza in Harrisburg.
The Franklin County State Health Center will hold a clinic. It is located at 518 Cleveland Street in Chambersburg.
Both locations will give out the vaccine from 2-8pm on Friday Nov. 20, then on Saturday Nov. 21 from 8am-2pm, and again on Sunday Nov. 22 from 2-8pm.
Appointments must be made by either calling 1-877-724-3258 or online. Those getting the shot are asked to download a consent form and complete it in advance. You can make an appointment and download the form here.
