Harrisburg Police are investigating a robbery and shooting.

It all started before 1:30 this morning near Fifth and Woodbine Streets in the city.

Police tell us a 29-year old man was shot in the butt and was dropped off at Harrisburg Hospital in a private vehicle.

Police say the man claims he was walking to visit his girlfriend and was robbed.  According to police, the man resisted to give up money to the robber so the other man shot him.

The suspect stole forty dollars and cigarettes from him and fled.

The 29-year old was then transferred to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled tight over his face.
