Harrisburg man arrested for 1980 double homicide

On Monday, State Police arrested a man in Harrisburg for his involvment in a homicide that happened in 1980.

Police say Ruperto Garcia, 47, of Harrisburg was arrested on Rudy Road. They say Garcia was wanted for a double homicide that happened in Adams County in 1980.

Trooper Scott Denisch, the lead investigator of the case, determined there were four people in connection with the homicides of Deborah and Nancy Patterson. 

Last week, Erasmo Cruz was extradited back to Adams County from Puerto Rico for homicide charges, associated with this homicide.

Police say the third suspect is already in jail on unrelated charges and the fourth is deceased.

Garcia is currently in Adams County Prison awaiting arraignment.
