The Dauphin County Commissioners are working to crack down on illegal dumping.
This after someone dumped several items, including three dead animals, a flea-infested mattress, and an old swing set in recycling bins in Halifax last week.
Under an ordinance passed in 2004, people caught dumping can face fines of up to $1,000 a day and even jail time.
Illegal items include any non-recyclable material, household trash, and yard and medical waste.
