A Lancaster man was sentenced to over 10 years in prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release for child pornography charges on Wednesday.

Lloyd Hershey Wenger Jr., 46, was sentenced and order to pay $5,000 in restitution. Wenger must also register as a sex offender.

Wenger had contact with an undercover FBI agent and shared numerous image files that showed children, some as young as infants, engaged in sexually explicit conduct. A forensic examination of his computer showed over 1,800 images and over 500 videos of child pornography.

Wenger was indicted in February 2012 and pleaded guilty last August.

The case was brought forth as part of Project Safe Childhood, a U.S. Department of Justice initiative aimed to protect children.
