Information provided by CBS Chicago:A small town in central Illinois is raising eyebrows with the unusual prize it’s raffling off in a Little League fundraiser: an AR-15 rifle.
WBBM Newsradio’s Regine Schlesinger reports Atwood-Hammond Little League commissioner Steven McClain said, to raise money for uniforms and equipment for the team from Atwood, they are raffling off the military-style rifle and a 30-round magazine.
He told WCIA-TV that more conventional prize at a raffle last year brought in only $10, so they needed to do something different this year.
