A new report says one of the healthiest counties in the state is right here in Central PA.
Cumberland County is in the top five healthiest counties, that's according to a report released by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Education, physical activity and access to health care all make up overall health.
The new study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute takes all aspects into consideration when determining which PA counties are the healthiest.
In total, two dozen factors.
“What we learn from rankings is it’s not one single thing it's actual a variety of factors, physical activity, community safety, they all come together to help us be healthy,” explained Michelle Larkin of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Health Group.
They found the top five healthiest Pennsylvania counties as Chester, Union, Centre, Cumberland and Snyder.
The unhealthiest, Philadelphia, Fayette, Greene, Sullivan and Forest
This year, the study also included oral hygiene and included availability of dentists in their overall health rankings.
