The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is issuing a $5,000 settlement over a natural gas explosion in Lancaster.

The settlement followed a investigation into a March 2004 gas explosion in the 400 block of Queen Street, where a UGI employee investigating a basement was injured.

The PUC unanimously voted to approve the settlement, which will provide gas safety education in the area, revise emergency procedures, and review equipment issues to UGI responders.
