Lancaster City Police responded to a robbery call early Friday morning to find gas station employees holding down the woman who attempted to rob them.

Police say Lisa Anne Ruoss, 32, went to the Gas Mart on Columbia Ave in the city, showed the clerk a box cutter and demanded money.  Ruoss tried to get behind the counter, and during a struggle the clerk suffered a small cut on his hand.  The clerk and another person were able to restrain Ruoss as others called 911.

After she was arrested, police took Ruoss to a local hospital for evaluation.  While in a treatment area, she set fire to a pair of bedsheets. A small fire was extinguished quickly and caused no injuries, say police, but it did fill the hallways with some and interrupt other patient treatments.

Ruoss faces charges of robbery and risking or causing a catastrophe.
