A major expansion project is underway in one part of Dauphin County.
Crews broke ground for the long-awaited expansion project for the Square in the center of Lingsletown. When the project is finished drivers will use roundabouts to get to Route 39 from two directions.
Original plans had called for the flag in the center of town to be torn town.
Tucker Ferguson of PennDot:
"The community got together with PennDot and backed off of that concept and came up with the current concept we have now, the two roundabouts. Ultimately we will be able to preserve that monument in the center of town."
People living in Linglestown says they are glad they can preserve the flag in the center of the town.
