175 employees were sent home from Three Mile Island when officials found low levels of radiation inside one of the reactor buildings.

A spokesperson with
TMI tells CBS21 an alarm sounded inside the building around four in the afternoon on Saturday.

Investigators found trace amounts of radiation inside the building, but levels have returned to normal.

Officials didn't find any contamination outside the building and say at no time was the public at risk.

All the workers in the building at the time were checked for radiation exposure, however no worker was in danger of exceeding radiation limits.

Officials believe the radiation exposure happened while workers were cutting lines in preparation for the removal of an old generator.
