UPDATE: The police dog that was shot in the neck by a suspect in a Dauphin County police chase, may get to go home tomorrow. Zeke underwent surgery Saturday at the Animal Emergency Medical Center.
Doctors have removed his IV's, and are now treating him with oral medication.
The two and a half year-old Belgian Malinois will be back to work in four to eight weeks.

Lower Paxton Township police shot and killed the suspect, who Dauphin County District Attorney, Ed Marsico, has identified as 20-year-old Skyler Stewart.
UPDATE:
As of Sunday afternoon, all Zeke's IV's have been removed and he should be home by Tuesday. Officials say in 4 to 8 weeks, he'll be back to work.

Zeke underwent surgery Saturday at the Rossmoyne Animal Emergency Trauma Center in Cumberland County. Dr. Mark Meyerhoff performed surgery for about two hours.
Zeke is out of surgery, stable, and recovering in his deluxe kennel, says Sabrena Meyeroff.

Police say a Dauphin County man is dead and the K-9 he allegedly shot is being treated at a veterinary hospital Friday night.
An officer shot the man on the run from cops, after the suspect shot and wounded the dog.
Everything started around the corner off Nyes and Jonestown Road in Lower Paxton Township.
Police say overnight one man stabbed another and shot at the victim’s car as he drove himself to a hospital.
That led police to search for that man later Friday afternoon at a home off Jonestown Road, near Nyes Road in Lower Paxton Township.
But he took off, armed and hid inside a home. Then the suspect took off running again.
"They chased the suspect into this wooded area behind us here next to the nursery and set up a perimeter,” explained Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico. “They received help from other departments including the Harrisburg Department’s K-9 unit."
Hiding in the bushes, the armed man on the run shot and wounded the K-9.
That's when a Lower Paxton Twp. Police Officer shot the suspect, who was taken to a hospital by ambulance but later died.
Right across the street from the shooting is Paxtonia Elementary School, police tell us they don't believe it was placed on lockdown as fortunately school was out already. There were though, a few kids around playing.
The K-9's name is Zeke. Paramedics rushed him onto a helicopter that flew Zeke to Rossmoyne Animal Emergency Trauma Center in Cumberland County.
Police say he's a strong pup and expect he'll pull through.
"It's very emotional, they do great work,” DA Marsico stated. “They are there with their partners, officers, every day."
The officer who shot the suspect is okay. He will be on administrative leave until the investigation is completed.

CBS 21 has new information on the police incident in Lower Paxton Township.
Overnight, a man stabbed another man and shot at his car as the victim drove himself to the hospital.
Friday afternoon, police looked for the suspect, who was at a home off Jonestown Road in Lower Paxton Township. The suspect was armed inside the home.
He led police on a chase to Nyes Road, right across from the Paxtonia Elementary School.
The suspect hid in the bushes near the Penn State Hershey Medical Center doctor’s office building at 121 Nyes Road.
The suspect shot the police k-9 Zeke in the neck and wounding him. Zeke was flown to a Veterinarian Hospital and is expected to survive.
A Lower Paxton Township Police officer fired back at the suspect. The suspect was taken to the hospital and died.

Police are on the scene of an incident on Nyes Road and a person and a dog was shot. As of 720 p.m., District Attorney Ed Marsico is also on scene.
Life Lion says they transported a 45-year-old man who was shot numerous times and is in cardiac arrest.
Also, according to Life Lion's Facebook page, a Harrisburg Police K-9 was transported after being shot in the neck. Zeke, the K9, was transported to Willow Mill Veterinarian Hospital.
The incident has been ongoing over the last few hours, according to reports CBS 21 has received.
