UPDATE: Shots fired at car outside John Harris High School Monday afternoon
Police are looking for three black males in connection with a shots fired incident outside of John Harris High School.
Police were called to the school around 2:55 Monday afternoon, for a report of a shooting.
Officers said three young men who were possibly former John Harris students were seen walking on school property near the Kline Village Shopping Center. They were confronted by staff members and asked to leave.
Police say the men walked across the property towards Hale Avenue and yelled something like "there they go" while pointing at a car stopped in traffic. They say the group ran toward the car while firing handguns at it.
The car backed into the front of a car behind it and sped off, while the group of males ran after it firing shots.
Police say the car was found a short time later in the 1100 block of Market Street. A witness said they saw four young black males running from the car.
According to officials, the car was damaged by gunfire and had been reported stolen in the Uptown area the day before.
Police are asking the young men and their families to contact them to surrender. Police are still investigating and anyone with information is asked to call Detective Joseph Zimmerman at 717-255-3180 or email at jzimmerman@cityofhbg.com
