Recap: Clemson vs. Virginia Tech
Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - Tanner Smith scored 14 points to lead the Clemson Tigers to a 58-56 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies in an Atlantic Coast Conference tilt at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Devin Booker added 11 points off the bench in the win for Clemson (16-13, 8-7 ACC), while Andre Young logged 10 points. Milton Jennings finished with just six points, but managed to pull down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Jarell Eddie scored 15 points to lead the way for Virginia Tech (15-15, 4-11), while Cadarian Raines and Dorenzo Hudson netted 12 and 11 points, respectively, with the former grabbing eight boards as well.
The Hokies went into the break trailing by a 33-31 margin despite shooting at a solid 48.0 percent clip over the opening 20 minutes of play.
The Tigers got a pair of free throws from Smith with just over two minutes remaining in the contest to break a 56-56 tie, and neither squad was able to convert a field goal down the stretch.
The Hokies committed 14 turnovers during the contest.
