Recap: Drexel vs. UNC-Wilmington
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Daryl McCoy managed a double-double with 17 rebounds and 13 points as the Drexel Dragons defeated the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, 62-46, to close out regular season action in a Colonial Athletic Association clash at the Daskalakis Center
McCoy was 5-of-7 from the field and of his 17 rebounds, nine were offensive as Drexel (13-17, 9-9 CAA) won back-to-back games for the first time in over a month. Damion Lee scored 12 points and Derrick Thomas added 11 while Dartaye Ruffin pulled down 14 rebounds.
UNCW (10-20, 5-13) was led by a double-double performance from Keith Rendleman in a valiant effort as the Seahawks suffered their fourth consecutive loss. Rendleman was the only player to score in double-figures as he tallied 24 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
The Dragons led 30-25 at the half despite shooting just 32.26 percent from the field.
In the second half, Drexel shot even worse at 29.0 percent from the floor but made good on 12-of-13 attempts from the free-throw line to outscore UNCW 31-21.
The Dragons domination on the board is what gave them the edge, outrebounding the Seahawks, 56-28.
