Recap: Canisius vs. Manhattan
Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Isaac Sosa scored a season-high 25 points to lead the Canisius Golden Griffins to a 64-60 win over the Manhattan Jaspers in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference bout at the Koessler Athletic Center.
Harold Washington added 12 points and five assists for Canisius (11-7, 4-3 MAAC), which had lost four of its previous five contests. Billy Baron chipped in 10 points, while Jordan Heath went for nine points and eight boards.
Shane Richards matched a career-high with 18 points on 6-of-9 from behind the arc to pace Manhattan (5-12, 3-4) in the loss. Michael Alvarado also scored 18 points, and Rhamel Brown pitched in 10 points and seven rebounds before fouling out.
Manhattan led by as many as 10 in the first half but trailed 28-25 at halftime after Canisius finished the half on a 15-2 run.
Canisius rode its momentum from the first half into the second as it extended the lead, and held a 60-47 advantage with 3:43 left in the game. The Jaspers fought back to make their deficit just two, 62-60, with 10 seconds remaining, but a pair of Sosa free throws sealed it for Canisius.
