Fort Myers, FL (Sports Network) - Cody Ross and Mike Aviles each provided RBI doubles in a four-run sixth inning for Boston as the Red Sox defeated the Minnesota Twins, 5-1, in spring training action.
Adrian Gonzalez and Dustin Pedroia each smacked a pair of hits while Jacoby Ellsbury added a triple for Boston. Starter Vicente Padilla tossed 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball.
Chris Parmelee provided the lone run for Minnesota with a home run in the top of the sixth inning. Starter Carl Pavano allowed four runs on seven hits while fanning three in 5 2/3 innings.
