Hope was the first dog we adopted through Shih-tzu and Furbaby Rescue 3 1/2 years ago.  She was rescued along with 68 others from a puppy mill in a house in Texas.  Initially there were 100 dogs but by the time the Animal Control Officer got the court order, they were down to 69.  The men who ran it terrified Hope so she was deathly afraid of my husband so we decided to adopt Faith, a dog who was rescued off the streets of Texas a couple of blocks from the puppy mill.  On September 7th, we adopted Love who came from a puppy mill in Missouri.  This picture was taken the day that we met Love for the first time.  Missouri recently passed laws protecting the rights of dogs in puppy mills and lowering the amount of dogs each mill is allowed to house.
