This is precious Cali. She is a puppy mill survivor rescued from a Lancaster, PA  USDA licensed kennel (a puppy mill).

She was only underweight (3 lbs), she had a bladder infection, pink eye, a urinary track infection, she was never touched with kindness, and because she has been confined to a cage her entire life she didn't quite know how to walk or jump.

What was most disturbing to me was that emotional impact she endured. She did not feel worthy enough to be alive. She would not make any type of eye contact with me and she was afraid of everything. For the first three weeks of having her she would sleep standing up leaning against the wall shaking. She would not lay on a blanket or bed I gave her. She would go and lay on the hard floor. No matter how hard I tried to coax her or how kind I was to her she didn't think she was worthy of comfort, food or love.

It's been a long road but here she is now... ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!
