Pro-life congressman pushed for an abortion

A pro-life Pennsylvania congressman is taking some heat for allegedly asking a woman, with whom he was having an extramarital affair, to have an abortion.  Republican Tim Murphy's affair with Shannon Edwards came to light during his recent divorce proceedings.  The "Pittsburgh Post-Gazette" reported yesterday that it has a text message from Edwards which claims Murphy had no problem promoting his pro-life stance, even after asking her to abort their unborn child.  Edwards turned out not to be pregnant.  Murphy is one of the co-sponsors of a bill that would outlaw late-term abortions.  He represents the 18th District which includes parts of Greene, Washington, Allegheny and Westmoreland counties.
